This case study outlines the SEO strategy and results for Lion Movers LLC, a premium moving services provider in Washington State. The project focused on building a strong online presence from the ground up for a newly launching website.
About the Client and Goals
- Company & Niche: Lion Movers LLC is a moving company with 10 years of experience in Washington State, specializing in high-quality, VIP moving services. The target audience includes high-income individuals, such as IT professionals from major tech companies (Microsoft, Google, Amazon), military families, and business owners in the Greater Seattle area. The service is positioned for a VIP segment willing to pay more for a comprehensive, stress-free moving experience.
- Project Goals: The primary goal was to prepare the new website, Lionmoversllc.com, for a successful launch through comprehensive on-page and off-page optimization. The client aimed to introduce their premium moving and packing services to the market and generate leads by ranking for key search terms related to moving services in their target cities.
Stages of Work
The SEO strategy was executed in several key phases, starting from a foundational audit to on-page implementation and content creation.
- Technical and Commercial Audit
An initial audit on June 8, 2022, identified several critical issues that needed to be addressed before the site’s launch.

- Lack of commercial trust factors, such as comprehensive contact information, schema markup, and Google Business Profile setup.
- Poor URL structure that was not SEO-friendly (e.g., /product-details/local-moving/).
- Absence of an HTTPS protocol and SSL certificate.
- Missing foundational SEO elements like a robots.txt file, an XML sitemap, and Google Analytics integration.
- Improper use of heading tags (H1-H6) and lack of image optimization (alt tags).

- A comprehensive list of recommendations was provided to rectify these issues, including creating unique content, setting up Google Analytics, implementing 301 redirects for new URLs, and generating a robots.txt file.
- The robots.txt file was configured to disallow indexing of the /get-a-quote/ page to manage crawl budget effectively.
- Semantic Core and Site Structure
A detailed semantic core was developed to target the client’s diverse service offerings across multiple locations in Washington State.
- Keyword Research: A wide range of keywords was collected, covering general moving terms (moving company, movers), service-specific queries (piano moving, packing services, apartment movers), and geo-targeted phrases for numerous cities like Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, and Everett. The keyword list also included long-tail variations related to pricing and service quality, such as «full service movers per hour» and «high quality movers».
- Site Structure & Keyword Mapping:
- The keywords were clustered and mapped to a logical, multi-level site structure. The structure was designed for scalability, with optimization planned in twelve stages to progressively roll out new pages.
- The structure included top-level service pages (Local Moving, Residential Moving, White Glove Packing), followed by location-specific landing pages for over 18 cities, and finally detailed pages for niche services like «Appliance Moving» and «Gun Safe Moving».
- On-Page Optimization and Content Implementation
With the keyword map in place, a full-scale on-page optimization plan was executed.

- Optimized Title tags, H1s, and Meta Descriptions were crafted for each target page. Templates were created to ensure consistency for location pages, following the format: VIP Moving Company in [City], WA: Services Price by Lion Movers LLC.
- H1 and H2 headings were defined for each page to incorporate primary and secondary keywords, providing clear structure for both users and search engines.

- Technical specifications for content creation were developed, detailing keyword usage and required text volume (e.g., 1,500-2,100 characters per page).
- A strategic interlinking plan was created, using keyword-rich anchor texts to link from blog posts and service pages to other relevant pages on the site, such as the homepage or main service categories.
Results
The systematic implementation of the SEO strategy led to significant improvements in search engine visibility within a seven-month period (July 2022 – February 2023).
- Keyword Rankings:
- By February 27, 2023, the website achieved numerous first-page rankings in Google (Seattle region) for valuable, geo-targeted keywords.
- Dozens of keywords moved into the #1 position, including «vip moving company in seattle per hour,» «vip moving company in everett for rent,» and «vip bellevue movers».
- Many other critical terms ranked in the top 3 and top 10, such as «vip movers» (#2), «vip moving services» (#6), and «elite moving and storage» (#10).
- The site also gained visibility in Bing, with several keywords appearing on the first page.
