  • Project Topic, Region, Site Type: The project focused on roofing services for Amcatroofing.com, based in Durango, CO. The site appears to be a corporate or service-oriented website, offering a range of roofing solutions including repair, replacement, installation, and managing insurance claims for both residential and commercial clients.
  • Client Goal: The client’s goal was to obtain a comprehensive audit of their website’s current SEO and commercial status, to identify and address existing issues, and to prepare a solid foundation for future search engine promotion.

What Was Done:

  • Website Audit: A detailed audit of the website was conducted, covering multiple critical aspects:
    • Technical SEO Audit: This included an analysis of the number of pages indexed by Google and Bing, the status of the SSL-certificate, and a check for viruses. Recommendations were provided for updating the robots.txt file, creating a favicon, implementing rel=»nofollow» for specific sections, adding «breadcrumbs,» setting up 301 redirects, optimizing Alt and Title tags for images, managing the usage of H1-H6 tags, and improving SEF URLs.
    • Content Audit: An analysis of content uniqueness on important pages was performed, leading to recommendations for writing new articles to enhance content uniqueness and relevance to the semantic core. Guidelines for content length (total of 26.1K characters for articles), keyword integration (including specific highlighting for main and section page requests), and H2 tag optimization were provided.
    • Commercial Factors Audit: An audit based on a commercial factors checklist was performed. Recommendations included specifying messengers for quick consultations, performing micro-markup (Schema.org) for «breadcrumbs» and contact information, adding company and employee photos, detailing business hours, and including legal entity information. Furthermore, recommendations were made to increase page speed for both mobile and desktop devices and to create a dedicated «Contact Us» page.
    • External Link Audit: An external link audit was planned to be conducted upon gaining access to Google Search Console.
    • Site Structure: The site’s existing structure was analyzed, and recommendations for its renewal were provided.

     

Optimization Scheme: A comprehensive optimization scheme was developed:

    • Collection and Grouping of Keywords: A semantic core was compiled, categorizing keywords by relevance to specific pages such as Home, Service Areas, Replacement & Repair, Insurance Claim Management, various installation types (Asphalt Shingle, Standing Seam, Metal R-Panel, Corrugated Metal, Thermoplastic Olefin), Metal Siding, Ice Dam Prevention, Commercial, and Residential services. Each keyword was provided with its search volume.

    • Recommendations for Structure and Meta-Tags: An updated site structure was provided. Detailed recommendations for Meta-Tags (Title, Meta-Keywords, Meta-Description, and H1 tags) were compiled for each relevant page, ensuring they were optimized for target keywords and aligned with the site’s renewed structure.

    • Templated Internal Linking: Recommendations for cross-page linking were provided, outlining a principle where keywords highlighted via color in new articles should link to their relevant pages within the semantic core.
    • Content Enhancements: Recommendations included writing new articles (26.1K characters in total) to improve content uniqueness and relevance. Specific instructions were given for incorporating keywords, highlighting key phrases, and formatting H2 tags to enhance both SEO and user experience.

 

  • Technical Specification / Task Prioritization: The client received a detailed report (Complex SEO-audit Report) and accompanying files (amcatroofingsem.pdf and strukt.pdf), which served as a comprehensive set of recommendations for Meta-Tags, content tasks, and site structure, presented in a structured and actionable format.
