- Goals: The primary goal of the SEO campaign was to improve the website’s search engine rankings for key service- and location-based queries to drive organic traffic and generate leads.
- Initial Situation: At the start of the project on August 22, 2023, the website had a limited online presence. The Google index contained only 35 pages. While specific traffic and lead data from the start is not available in the sources, initial keyword positions were low. For example, in February 2023, many important keywords were outside the top 10, such as «cheapest moving company» (position 25) and «same day moving company near me» (position 41).

A detailed SEO and technical audit was conducted on August 22, 2023, which identified several key areas for improvement.
Key Issues Identified:
- Technical SEO:
- Incorrect server response for non-existent pages (no 404 error page).
- Inconsistent URL structure (pages with and without trailing slashes) requiring 301 redirects.
- Non-optimal URL (slug) structure for service pages.
- Absence of a sitemap.xml file.
- Improper use of heading tags (H1-H6), with multiple H1 tags on some pages.
- Lack of «breadcrumb» navigation.
- Need for an updated robots.txt file. The existing file was minimal, only disallowing /wp-admin/, */?, and */tag/.
- On-Page SEO & Content:
- Lack of optimized meta tags (Title, Description, Keywords) and H1 tags for target pages.
- Low content uniqueness, necessitating new, optimized articles.
- An internal linking strategy was required to distribute link equity effectively.
- Commercial Factors:
- The website needed more trust signals, such as customer reviews, detailed contact information (including messengers), and photos of the office and staff.
- Website loading speed needed improvement for both mobile and desktop users.
- Semantic Core Development and Structuring
A broad semantic core was developed to cover all of the client’s services and service areas.
- Keyword Collection: A comprehensive list of keywords was gathered, covering general terms («movers,» «moving company»), cost-related queries («cheap movers,» «low cost moving»), location-specific searches («movers in federal way,» «seattle moving company»), and various service types («apartment moving,» «piano moving,» «short distance movers»).
- Clustering and Site Structure: The collected keywords were clustered to create a new, logical site structure. This structure included top-level pages for «Services» and «Locations,» with dedicated subpages for each specific service and city. This architecture was designed to target distinct user intents and improve site navigation. The implementation was planned in several stages.

Based on the audit and semantic core, a full-scale on-page optimization was executed.
- Meta Tags and Headings: Unique and optimized Title tags and H1 headings were crafted for every important page on the site, from the homepage to individual service and location pages. For example, the H1 for the homepage was set to «Cheap Local Mover in WA», and for the Federal Way page, «Cheap Moving Company in Federal Way».
- Content Creation: A content plan was developed to create new, unique texts for the website, totaling over 18,600 characters. These texts were written to include target keywords for each page and establish semantic relevance.
- Internal Linking: A strategic internal linking plan was implemented. The new content included anchor text links pointing to relevant pages, such as linking a mention of «affordable moving washington state» back to the homepage, thereby distributing authority across the site.
